About MTH205 – Calculus 1
The design of this course is to develop the subject of differential calculus. Topics include functions, limits, derivatives and differentiation rules.

- Function representations, vertical line test, increasing and decreasing functions, linear models, power functions, rational functions, algebraic functions, trigonometric functions
- Tangent and velocity problem, limit of a function, calculating limits using Limit Laws
- Definition of continuity, The Intermediate Value Theorem, Derivatives and rates of change, Derivative as a function, Notations for derivative
- Derivatives of polynomials and exponential functions, The Product and Quotient Rules, The Chain Rule, Implicit differentiation
- Review of all objectives covered in class
Prerequisites
Completion of both the MTH105: College Algebra, MTH201: Precalculus or an equivalent course in Math.
