We are thrilled to unveil our new logo and introduce you to Codi as the official mascot of California Institute of Applied Technology (CIAT)!
At CIAT, we believe in a student-led approach to education. Our students are at the heart of everything we do. Through regular feedback and surveys, we strive to create an environment where students feel empowered to influence decisions that shape their college experience. As part of our commitment to a student-led approach to education, we invited our CIAT family to help name our new grizzly mascot. The response was overwhelming, with hundreds of creative submissions from current students and alumni.
"Codi" emerged as a clear favorite, perfectly blending our technology focus with the strength and resilience of the grizzly bear. Multiple students independently suggested this name, each with their own thoughtful reasoning.
The grizzly bear embodies strength, resilience, and community—qualities that reflect our dedication to our students, the collaborative spirit of our college. and reminds us all to rise to challenges and support one another as we navigate our academic journeys.
"It ties into technology (like coding) while keeping it fun and memorable. Plus, it reflects CIAT’s focus on tech education while giving the mascot a friendly personality."
