Background and Industry Experience

CCNA Adjunct Instructor

I have 15 years in IT, with 10 years network engineering, and 3+ years with cybersecurity. I started my IT journey years ago with a CompTIA A+ certification, with the goal of pursuing cybersecurity. However, as I began studying, I realized I had a limited understanding of networking, which would hold me back in achieving my goal. So, I shifted my focus to becoming a Network Engineer and worked toward obtaining a CompTIA Network+ certification. I found networking both enjoyable and challenging, so I continued with the CCENT, CCNA, and CCNP certifications while gaining experience in the field. I later earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, specializing in Network Operations & Security from WGU. After years of studying networks and working as a Network Engineer, I returned to my cybersecurity aspirations and earned the CISSP. In my free time, I enjoy camping with my black lab, Kona.
