I have over four years of professional experience in cybersecurity, specializing in security operations and threat detection. My work focuses on monitoring and analyzing security events, investigating potential threats, and improving detection capabilities within a Security Operations Center environment. I have extensive experience in incident investigation, alert triage, and security monitoring across enterprise environments.
In my current role as a Senior Security Analyst, I work with a plethora of security tools (EDR, AV, FW, DLP, SOAR, SIEM, IDR, IPS) and detection platforms to identify malicious activity, respond to incidents, and strengthen an organization’s overall security posture. My experience includes threat analysis, incident response support, and security monitoring across cloud and on-premises environments.
Prior to entering cybersecurity, I worked in the construction manufacturing industry as a truss designer and department manager. This experience developed my leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, which I now apply to cybersecurity investigations and threat analysis.
I hold a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and am passionate about helping others enter and succeed in the cybersecurity field. I have 7 CompTIA certification including A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, Project+, Pentest+, and SecurityX.
Outside of teaching and cybersecurity, I enjoy running, strength training, and pursuing creative projects such as game development and writing. I also enjoy exploring emerging technologies and staying current with developments in cybersecurity and digital defense.
