PMI CAPM Certification Exam Training - Frequently Asked Questions
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is an entry-level certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) that demonstrates your understanding of fundamental project management principles and terminology.
To be eligible for the CAPM certification, you must have a high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent degree, and you must complete at least 23 hours of formal project management education.
The CAPM exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions, including 15 unscored pretest questions. You have 3 hours to complete the exam.
To prepare for the CAPM exam, you should:
- Develop a structured study plan focusing on the PMBOK Guide.
- Take practice exams to become familiar with the exam format.
- Consider enrolling in one-on-one certification practice sessions for additional guidance and resources.
PMI does not disclose the exact passing score for the CAPM exam, but it is generally suggested that answering at least 70% of the questions correctly is sufficient to pass.
The CAPM certification is valid for five years. To maintain the certification, you must either retake the exam or earn 15 Professional Development Units (PDUs) within the five-year cycle.
