CIAT Changes Name to California Institute of Applied Technology

CIAT has officially transitioned to a new name, California Institute of Applied Technology, marking a significant milestone in the school’s growth and expansion into new fields of study. The driving force behind this name change is the commitment to the applied, hands-on learning approach that CIAT takes with all its programs.

CIAT is pioneering a new educational approach, beyond the traditional four-year or community college experience. As a technical college, we prepare graduates to finish their programs with a portfolio of applied experience, uniquely positioning them to compete for in-demand jobs. This innovative education approach married with our robust career services is what sets CIAT apart from traditional colleges and more readily equips our students for their chosen careers.

When asked on the name change, CIAT founder and CEO Jamie Doyle stated, “We’re evolving just like you are. We started as California Institute of Arts and Technology, and now we’ve evolved into California Institute of Applied Technology, because we know that students are going to apply their degrees into technical career fields as they achieve their goals.”

CIAT History

Founded in 2008 by CEO Jamie Doyle, CIAT was established to revolutionize IT education. Prioritizing hands-on training and high-quality vocational programs, CIAT sought to truly prepare students for successful and rewarding careers across various IT fields.

Since its inception, California Institute of Applied Technology has guided over 3,000 students on their educational journeys, consistently expanding its reach. CIAT’s growth trajectory has been marked by adding new campus locations and introducing new innovative programs. Through all the years, CIAT remained committed to student success in every touchpoint of the organization: degree programs led by industry experts, hands-on curricula with computer kits and virtual labs, support for students to earn industry certifications on top of their degree, and a robust career services support team to assist students with personalized career coaching and mentoring.

CIAT’s dedication to providing exceptional educational experiences has propelled our continuous growth and evolution, enabling us to stay at the forefront of preparing skilled professionals for the ever-changing demands of today’s job market.

The Evolution of CIAT: California Institute of Applied Technology

As CIAT continues to evolve, we remain dedicated to our commitment to student success and providing the right path to a rewarding career. This unwavering mission has driven our growth since 2008.

The recent name change signifies our expansion into new industries beyond our IT roots, as we have expanded our degree offerings by introducing 5 new programs in IT Project Management, Business Administration, Digital Marketing, Human Resources Management, and Healthcare Management. These additions complement our existing in-demand and award-winning IT degree programs in Cybersecurity, IT Administration, Networking, Software Development, and Data Analytics, further diversifying our educational portfolio.

As we start this new chapter, our core mission and dedication to providing students with a meaningful educational experience remains unchanged. We are committed to continuously evolving and enhancing our programs to meet the needs of different industries and equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the CIAT community – the students, faculty, staff, and partners – whose contributions have been instrumental in our past and future achievements. Your unwavering support is the foundation of this institution, and we look forward to continuing our journey together, and fostering an environment of growth, innovation, and excellence.
