This course represents the first of a two-part class. This introductory course teaches students the basics of Human Resource Management (HRM) such as how companies take care of their workers, the differences between traditional and strategic HR, plan for hiring, support fairness and diversity, and follow the law. Students will learn how data management and company goals help make good decisions about people and occupations. The topics incorporate how businesses value workers as important investments, the various methods that HR can be accomplished, and in what way to use information to make intelligent choices.
