Have you recently enrolled at CIAT? If so, you might have a new student orientation coming up soon. We’ve put together a sneak peek guide so you know what to expect in advance. Read on for details about what will be covered, who you will meet, and why it’s so important that you attend.
New Student Orientation is a mandatory student event to help you get started on your new academic journey. It will help you prepare to begin your classes with CIAT, so it is vital that you attend. The orientation is hosted our Student Services Coordinator here at CIAT. Be sure to arrive a few minutes early so you have some time to prepare any questions you might have!
Next you will learn about academic requirements and expectations, exam policies, and our network policy. The academic schedule will be reviewed, including details on holidays, breaks, and attendance requirements. Then you will meet some of the key players at CIAT, and how they will help you succeed. These include…
- Daniel Madrigal and Jenny Jones, VA/FA Certifying Officials
- Debbie Fernandez, Student Success Coordinator
- Patrick Murphy, Instructor
- Charles Beasley, Job Placement Coordinator
They can answer any remaining questions you might have, like “when do I get my benefits?” and “what happens if I fall behind on my work?”
The rest of the time will be used to get you set up for your student accounts and classes. You will log in to your student portal and student email account, and learn how to access course materials and find out your schedule. Your fingerprint ID registration will be completed, and you will be ready to go as a new student at CIAT!
As you move forward with your education, you will know about all the resources and people who are available to help you do your best. That’s why orientation is so important – it starts you off on the right foot, and sets the tone for your entire academic journey. Orientations are held twice a month on average, and online sessions are available for remote/online students. Contact us today for more information.
