Student Satisfaction Ratings

Hear What Our Current Students Are Saying

Student satisfaction drives our decision-making and helps us regularly adapt to the needs of our students. All students are surveyed at the completion of each five-week term and are asked to provide feedback on their overall course experience, instructor support, confidence in their skill building, and more. We are proud of our high student satisfaction rates, consistently reaching our goals of 90% or higher each term. We value transparency and have committed to posting a summary of the survey results each term for prospective students and active students to review.

Ms. Mays did a phenomenal job teaching and reigniting forgotten knowledge of the tools that I used to use, and I feel so much more confident and prepared for my future because of it. Thank you Ms. Mays!

My second time having this teacher and enjoyed it! He knows the material very well and explains it in a way that is easy to understand. He is very nice and answers everyone's questions with knowledge, patience, and care!

I really appreciate the knowledge that the instructor provided me to continue my career.

One of the best instructors I've had. They consistently explained concepts in depth, used strong examples, and included visual materials that helped deepen my understanding.

Student Requests

Overall great experience in the course. If I were to offer anything to improve the course it would be a more in-depth study guide in week four or five so that preparation for the final exam of the course.

The most difficult thing about the course was the discrepancy between the lecture instructor and the grading instructor. It made it more difficult to gauge expectations when the instruction came from a different individual than was grading our work.

I really wish I was able to take this course in person. This is probably the most fun I have had in CIAT. I would have loved to attend an in-person class because this subject is so interesting to me and really inspired me! Thank you Professor Ganes!

Overall, I learned a lot in this class. I just recommend adding more spunk into the class lectures or making them more interactive if possible.

Overall pretty informative course. Learned some new things I was not previously familiar with.

She is an amazing instructor. I have never been in a class where they are thorough with the curriculum as she is. She makes where everyone can understand what the curriculum is say and what it is asking us to do. She takes her time and doesn't rush through it. Thank you, Lorraine Barrera-Pope, for doing so.

Thank you Eva and thank you CIAT. Thank you for the knowledge and opportunity. This was a tough decision to start school again. This first class destroyed any worry I had about returning to school. I am fully confident and excited for this opportunity now.

The instructor explained the course material clearly and made difficult topics easier to understand. They were always prepared for class and used helpful examples that supported the lessons. The instructor also encouraged participation and created a positive learning environment for students. They were available to answer questions and provided useful feedback on assignments. Overall, the instructor was supportive and helped me gain a better understanding of the subject.

Student Requests

While the instructor was great and the course went well overall, the instructions for the lab assignments need updating. Luckily, Rebecca was swift in catching these errors and adjusting the class; however, it became challenging to follow.

I wish there was one location where all the slides are for the course instead of having to go week by week to find them and review them.

I've had a good overall experience, and most things have been smooth on my end. The support teams have been helpful and easy to work with, and communication has been clear whenever I needed something. A little more real-world examples or step-by-step guidance in certain areas would make things even better, but overall I've been happy with the support I've received.

Need more engagement with students with regards to the labs.

I really enjoyed the class and appreciated a teacher who works in the field and is excited to teach it.

Mr. Bert Weinheimer came across to me as someone who genuinely cared about the class, and that made a difference. He taught with patience, kindness, and a calm confidence that made everything easier to understand. I appreciated how willing he was to share his knowledge, answer questions, and support us whenever we needed it. His sense of humor kept things light, and his wisdom showed in the way he explained concepts and guided us through the course.

I’ve genuinely enjoyed learning throughout this course. It has helped me develop a much stronger understanding of computer operating systems, and I can see how valuable this knowledge will be as I continue deeper into the IT field.

Mr. James Burk is an excellent professor—clear explanations and engaging lectures. Fair grading, helpful feedback, and a positive learning environment. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the class. Hands down one of the best Instructors I’ve had.

Student Requests

I would like the final study guide sooner in the course than the last week just for my personal preparation.

I just think this class to make students feel certification ready we need 6 weeks not 5.

Could be more helpful if real life examples are shown using scientific calculator like given in the exam hall during class lectures.

The labs would benefit from updates, and clearer, more consistent communication would improve the course experience.

My instructor is fantastic. His teaching method helped me understand the course material very quickly.

Ms. Salomon’s recordings were thorough, and she always took time to listen and give opportunities for students in live classes to have their concerns or problems addressed and resolved. She is very knowledgeable in what she does and in what she teaches.

Outstanding experience for my first class at CIAT.

Professor Pryor, the last five weeks of Computer Hardware Fundamentals have been very insightful. I particularly appreciated the practical approach to understanding components like the hands-on disassembly and assembly of CPUs kit that we have. It has really helped bridge the gap between theory and real-world application for me. It has been a great learning experience.

Student Requests

I do think we either need more class or just an extra lesson to keep the brain flowing.

If possible, can professor grade completed work in a timely manner so that the student can learn from mistakes, if any.

I think that the subnetting portion would be a little bit longer to engage and to learn. I felt like it was a little too much rush for a two day class.

The limited number of students in the class significantly restricted the availability of alternative choices.

The kahoot games really helped me reinforce what we learned during the slides. Sometimes the slides can be a bit monotonous and it’s easy to lose focus. The kahoot games were interactive and helped a lot

One of the kindest teachers I've had thus far. Most teachers have been great thus far and Instructor Siddeeq is no exception.

Great, positive and upbeat professor! Graded work on time which I appreciated.

I would like to thank our, Professor Solace, for being so knowledgeable, professional, and patient throughout the course. His ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and your willingness to help whenever we had questions made a big difference in our learning experience. His supportive attitude and dedication to his students truly created a positive and engaging classroom environment. We really appreciate all his effort and guidance.

Student Requests

Quizzes were too many questions.

Please update the exercise and course materials to reflect accurately.

Maybe add up to date exercise screenshots on the lab /exercise portions.

There should not be 2 different instructors for live lectures and someone else grading the homework. If that will be the case, then a grading and teaching standard should be set so that both instructors are on the same page when it comes to the course material.

This course was a valuable learning experience, and I appreciate the effort Douglas put into making it engaging and practical. The support and feedback made a big difference in my understanding and confidence moving forward.

An AMAZING professor a great start to my higher education journey.

Mr. Fabian was really engaging, fun, and gave alot of stories that helped me relate the content to the real world. i would love to have him as my professor any day.

Very knowledgeable instructor who always made himself available for questions, tutoring, or any other assistance when it was needed.

Student Requests

This is not a critique on the teacher these are complaints about the course itself this class had nothing to do with my major.

I feel crucial exams should be introduced not just by the student advisor, but before students touch the Tech+ Course. Ambitious minds like mine would benefit greatly.

He needs to start doing the labs in the live recordings for those who cannot attend the live sessions.

Tell or let your instructors know that they are teaching novices, things need to be explained more clearly.

I have nothing but praise for Edward Im. Excellent instructor and excellent course. I feel ready to tackle the next one

Professor Brown, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us and for.

Great class, Great Professor and definitely a confidence boost in basic computer information.

The interactive nature of CIAT, combined with its diverse student population, fosters a supportive atmosphere where students are empowered and connected, eliminating any sense of loneliness or isolation.

Justin was a great instructor, quick to respond during live lectures and provided assistance during labs. He has a wealth of personal experience and knowledge he related to the course material.

Student Requests

I recommend moving some things around. The first week, we had to identify the PC components, which I believe could have been beneficial, maybe in the fourth week of class rather than the first week due to being clueless of not knowing what some components look like and where they are located.

Class can be a bit better with a more structured approach. I feel like we need to study for the final a bit more.

I wish that CIAT would create a final study guide built into the courses to help study for the exams.

There is so much content and at times I feel overwhelmed (reading, lectures etc).

The class instruction was very well explained. The instructor showed vast knowledge in this course. Really great class!

Professor Brown, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us and for being patient with every explanation and question that we asked you. Looking forward again on having you as my professor for future classes. Thank you very much.

Great course, and Mr Fontenot is a top notch instructor. Highly engaging, attentive to student concerns, and addresses them promptly. Glad to have attended his course.

Chetan was knowledgeable, patient and kind when instructing the class in Linux Administration. His friendly approach to the curriculum allowed me to ask any questions to better get a grasp of the content.

Student Requests

As someone who is a complete beginner the course was pretty fast paced. A lot of information to compile with a lot of assignments. Trust the process is the only way.

I think there might be too much packed into this course with the short amount of time that we have. Everything we learned was useful, but it made getting everything turned in on time pretty stressful.

I would like to see greater focus on passing the exams. Questions of the exam and key notes.

I look forward to the next class and hope the next professor is just as amazing as Professor Reyes. He went above and beyond when I had not received my lab kit by the intended date and made it happen that I received it along with tracking info.

I really enjoyed this course while using cisco packet tracer. The labs were extremely helpful throughout this whole course!

Jose did an excellent job of delivering knowledge to the students and explaining the steps that can be taken in case of any errors while completing the task. I will say it gave the notion that we were already in the industry and working for a company.

I feel empowered and knowledgeable about pursuing AWS certification. Uche has been an exceptional role model and instructor. As my time at CIAT ends, I can say that it has been a welcoming and enjoyable educational experience. I look forward to working professionally with my fellow cohorts soon. Thank you to all of the staff who made this possible.

Student Requests

Great materials to work with, but there was a delay in answering messages.

I would like to see the profile enhancement assignment extend beyond just adding a project. I would really like to see us getting involved with our career advisors at the end of each month this way. Could be an opportunity to communicate changes in our careers, and anything else that we may need to update on our profiles.

This course needs a little work in the questions and the key terms for more clarity as some don’t really give an appropriate definition.

I would suggest making this subject one of the first subjects in a course. It feels redundant after having gone through many more advanced subjects to get back to windows fundamentals.

Overall, Edward is the best teacher I've had so far. He really breaks things down in a way that's easy to understand and doesn't just assume we know everything already. His explanations are clear, and he takes the time to make sure everyone's on the same page before moving forward. It honestly makes learning feel way less stressful and way more approachable.

Had a great time in the class, reviewed some things I knew about MS Office and learned some new things about it! Great class for those who need refreshers on the content or for people who have a troubling time with MS Office!

Fantastic introduction into higher education, I appreciate Nikhil's attentiveness when making sure all students understand the lesson.

I had a great experience in this course! The instructor was knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely cared about student success. The materials and assignments were relevant and helped build real world skills. I feel much more confident stepping into the tech field thanks to this course.

Student Requests

I didn't find the text book helpful it was hard to navigate.

It really would be a better experience to separate students with no experience from the ones that have experience dealing with computers. It gets counterproductive when you have a student challenging the instructor and testing his knowledge. In a learning environment. A little unfair to the other students that just want to learn the basic before the advance short cuts.

There should be a final exam study material. Too many questions not covered in the assignments are on the final exam.

As an East Coast student, I've found it challenging to attend the live lectures due to the time difference with the West Coast schedule. While the recorded sessions are very helpful, being able to participate in real time would enhance the learning experience. Offering additional live lecture times that accommodate East Coast students would be greatly appreciated.

During my educational journey, I have had Carolyn Toth multiple times covering various subjects. She has always been one of the most knowledgeable and patient instructors that I've had. Whenever I had any issues or struggled with paper assignments, she was available and provided me with the proper tools to achieve my goals. I will forever be thankful and grateful for her guidance.

Great course. It was refreshing to get to do a little research and produce a paper as a way to demonstrate understanding on a topic rather than labs that can crash or malfunction. Really enjoyed the course. Professor was great.

Lawrence Quesada is an outstanding instructor! Very knowledgeable and extremely patient.

I learned so much from Professor Sammour. He never hesitated to fully explain, with examples, the details of any question, keep us engaged, and was clear and concise. You can tell he cares about his students and will root for our success!

Student Requests

The final was a bit challenging as some of the test questions & information was not covered in the course. Perhaps it was covered but not in detail. There's so much information in the book so it's a bit challenging to grasp all concepts and terminology.

Weekly lab demonstrations were often not covered fully within the 3 and a half hour zoom calls. Labs were sometimes changed during the lecture zoom calls making the learning process slightly more confusing and frustrating. Teacher can overall be hard to follow along with.

This was a class with a lot of new terminology and the subject material was not the easiest to understand. The Professor did a good job.

Instructor should focus more on challenge labs instead of guided labs.

I think Devin Loftis did a wonderful job of presenting and interacting with the class. He made himself available all the time and made sure everyone understood the content.

The instructor was great I had a lot of personal issues that came up during this course but the instructor was very knowledgeable on the subject and I was able to keep up.

Professor Velazquez was amazing, I learned a lot in his class when it got tough, he assisted me.

I think Robert Sorace is the best instructor in this course, excellent knowledge of the material, good presentation of information, everything you need without any extras.

Student Requests

The class was great the only thing I would have liked to see was a little more out of book learning. Maybe some personal explanations instead of just content from the book.

Great course excellent material though some of the Labs tend to freeze or not correct the submission correctly.

Instructor needs more engagement with the labs to explain the process a bit better.

I feel like courses could be a little longer.
