  • What campus is the Office of Career Services located?

    The Office of Career Services is located in the administration office at our National City campus and is open Mon-Fri from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • What assistance does the Office of Career Services offer?

    Our Office of Career Services offers a variety of resources to set you up for success. Some of them consist of job search assistance, resume and cover letter critiques, interview guidance, career and professional development, and more.

  • How do I get help with my resume?

    Priscilla Leyva, our resume expert, is available Mon-Thu from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. for all your resume needs at our Office of Career Services. To request an appointment, please email pleyva@ciat.edu or call (619) 535-6936 to reserve your spot.

  • Where do I find job placement assistance?

    We have numerous resources to assist you in your career exploration. Make an appointment to discuss your individual goals or stop by the Office of Career Services Mon-Thu from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • How can the Office of Career Services help me find an internship or employment?

    We work with students who have completed their certifications to find employment with more than 200 companies and recruiters. Please reach out to our Career Services Coordinator, Priscilla Leyva, at pleyva@ciat.edu or 619-535-6936 to make an appointment to review your resume and job options.

  • What types of employers does CIAT work with to get students hired?

    We work with a wide range of employers including Begelectric, Booz Allen Hamilton, Manpower Technical, Northrup Grumman, Qualstaffing for Information Technology, and Decypher Technologies. We also work closely with the San Diego Workforce Partnership to offer paid internships for our students, along with Computer 2 Kids, San Diego (C2K) for non-paid internships that require little experience.

  • Why do I need to meet with career services to review my resume?

    It is important to have an up-to-date, well-written, and well-formatted resume to make it easy for hiring managers, HR professionals, and applicant tracking systems to scan it.

    Typically, you only have 10 seconds to impress the person reading your resume, and if they do not see any skills that align with the position they are looking to fill, they will move on to the next applicant. With a well-written resume that highlights your skills and accomplishments, you will significantly boost your chances of landing an interview in this highly competitive market.

  • What good will it do me to go to career services?

    The Office of Career Services is committed to providing you with the tools you’ll need to succeed. Regardless of whether you already have a job lined up, are a transitioning military professional, or are new to the IT field, there are plenty of ways you can utilize the support and guidance offered through our Office of Career Services.

    Our office provides you with the resources necessary for all aspects of your professional goals such as resume and cover letter assistance, mock interviews, career counseling, job search techniques, career fairs, and more. Because of our well-established relationship with numerous employers, our office is usually the first to know about potential job openings and will refer qualified CIAT students. By utilizing our services, you’ll not only set yourself up for your success, but you might also learn a lot more about yourself along the way.
