This course examines the healthcare revenue cycle from patient registration through final reimbursement, emphasizing the role of health information in the billing and payment process. Topics include health insurance systems, managed care, government payers, prospective payment systems, claim submission, accounts receivable management, and regulatory compliance. Students analyze the impact of accurate coding and documentation on reimbursement, organizational revenue integrity, and equitable healthcare access across diverse patient populations.
