Associate Dean of Education
Dr. Abdullah Alshawi is a higher education leader, educator, digital marketing professional, and published author who is passionate about connecting education with real-world career success. He currently serves as the Associate Dean of Education for Business Programs at California Institute of Applied Technology (CIAT), where he supports programs in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Project Management, and Digital Marketing.
With a Ph.D. and years of experience in higher education, Dr. Alshawi brings a practical, student-centered approach to academic leadership. His background includes curriculum development, online learning, faculty support, business strategy, and more than eight years of professional experience as a Director of Digital Marketing. This industry experience allows him to connect academic concepts with real-world marketing practices, helping students understand how business and technology work together in today’s workplace.
Dr. Alshawi is also the author of book Serious Shortcut to Digital Marketing: AI Edition, a book focused on helping learners and professionals understand digital marketing through a practical, modern, and AI-enhanced lens. His work reflects a strong interest in career-focused learning, artificial intelligence in education, digital transformation, and preparing students for a fast-changing professional world.
