CIAT Partners with StraighterLine to Expand Credit Transfer Options

CIAT and StraighterLine are pleased to announce a strategic partnership designed to expand educational access for aspiring IT professionals. The collaboration combines CIAT’s technical expertise with StraighterLine’s educational pathway solutions, creating greater flexibility for students pursuing technology careers.

Why This Partnership Matters

StraighterLine is an educational pathway provider that strengthens CIAT’s ability to offer flexible, accessible education options tailored to diverse student needs. All StraighterLine courses are reviewed and recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE), and CIAT assesses each course before approving it for transfer, so students can trust that curriculum, learning outcomes, and assessments uphold CIAT’s quality standards.

How the Transfer Process Works

Once a student passes a StraighterLine course with a grade of 70% or higher, they log in to their StraighterLine account and request an official transcript. StraighterLine sends the transcript directly to CIAT at no extra cost, and CIAT reviews it and applies the credits toward the student’s degree program.

What Students Get

  • Multiple entry points into degree programs through personalized educational roadmaps
  • Faster completion of general education requirements through self-paced, flexible courses
  • Lower overall educational expenses through StraighterLine’s affordable course options
  • A simple transfer process, with transcripts sent directly to CIAT at no extra cost
  • Academic advising, tutoring, and transcript delivery included with StraighterLine membership

The partnership demonstrates CIAT’s commitment to making quality technology education accessible to all students, regardless of financial circumstances, and adds to its broader network of academic and community partnerships that create additional pathways into its degree programs.
