TABAN BUSTANI
DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SERVICES
As a San Diego native, I am a proud graduate of San Diego State University, where I obtained a bachelor’s in Liberal studies. I then went on to obtain a master’s in Business Administration, but my heart had always been in education, so I continued my education and obtained a master’s in education. With over 13 years of experience in higher education, I have a strong equity lens, which drives my work with students and defines my stance on the manner in which I approach my work. I strongly believe that equity means that each student receives what they need, when they need it, and the means in which they need it in order to be successful. I am looking forward to working with you!
HEATHER RAMIREZ
STUDENT SUCCESS ADVISOR
I have a BA in Liberal Studies / California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State University, Northridge. I provide ongoing support for students to help them succeed in their academic journey.
AMY GIBSON

I have a BA in Psychology from Ole Miss and received my Master’s in Educational Leadership from The University of Memphis. I provide ongoing support for students to help them succeed in their academic journey.

I am a US Navy veteran and communication professional with multiple years of experience in counseling, student services, and advising through effective interpersonal and intercultural communication. I am a classic extrovert who is a people person, a vocal advocate for equity, inclusion, and empowering students from diverse communities.
PATRICK GALLIGAN

I have been working in education for 12 years and have taught varied subjects like, English, Video Production, Microsoft Office, and Business Skills. I lived my entire life in Chicago until 2013 when I drove out to San Diego. I am happy to live by the Pacific and escape the winters of the Midwest.

I have 15 years’ experience in financial aid and I’m currently excited to be leading the financial aid team. My team and I are here to help you achieve your educational goals and walk you through every single step. I enjoy traveling when possible and enjoy the many things the city of San Diego has to offer.

I have a BA in Business Administration. I have 7 years of financial aid experience. I love working with students and helping them understand how their finances work. I am also a Military advocate for my vet students.

I am a native of San Diego. I have been in higher education and worked in financial aid for over 12 years. I am here to assure that each student receives the financial help that is needed while in school and to help guide students after graduation. I believe that financial aid is the stepping stone in helping students achieve their education and career goals. I look forward to working with you.

I joined CIAT in September 2022. Over the years in my career in financial aid I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of students advising and counseling them through the financial aid process. I am a graduate of Grossmont College, and I recently purchased my condo in La Mesa where I enjoy daily walks to the Village, and I love the Farmers Market there. When I’m not keeping busy with my extended family in Del Mar, you can find me riding bikes in Coronado!

Detail oriented Financial Aid Advisor with 10+ years of experience providing outstanding customer service. Demonstrated ability in problem solving, multi-tasking, and managing hundreds of diverse accounts. I have a keen eye for detail with prompt follow up, thoroughness in providing instructions and execute assignments. I am a team player with respect for all individuals and work efficiently in a fast-paced pressured environment.
