Career Services FAQ

CIAT staff have an open-door policy and try to be readily available to assist students with any school or personal issues. CIAT provides academic assistance and tutoring services for students experiencing academic difficulties. Instructors are available by appointment to assist with any area of difficulty, and students may be required to participate in extra help or tutoring sessions to maintain satisfactory enrollment. For academic assistance to be beneficial, students must be as committed to their own success as the school is and take the initiative to discuss their difficulties with their instructors and/or Student Services. Special tutoring or Test Preps are available to students experiencing academic difficulty on an as needed basis.

The Office of Career Services is located in the administration office at our National City campus (401 Mile of Cars Way, Suite 100, National City, CA 91950) and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am to 6pm.

Our Office of Career Services offers a variety of resources to set you up for success. Some of them consist of job search assistance, resume and cover letter critiques, interview guidance, career and professional development, and more.

It is important to have an up-to-date, well-written, and well-formatted resume to make it easy for hiring managers, HR professionals, and applicant tracking systems to scan it.

Typically, you only have 10 seconds to impress the person reading your resume, and if they do not see any skills that align with the position they are looking to fill, they will move on to the next applicant. With a well-written resume that highlights your skills and accomplishments, you will significantly boost your chances of landing an interview in this highly competitive market.

The Office of Career Services is committed to providing you with the tools you’ll need to succeed. Regardless of whether you already have a job lined up, are a transitioning military professional, or are new to the IT field, there are plenty of ways you can utilize the support and guidance offered through our Office of Career Services.

Our office provides you with the resources necessary for all aspects of your professional goals such as resume and cover letter assistance, mock interviews, career counseling, job search techniques, career fairs, and more. Because of our well-established relationship with numerous employers, our office is usually the first to know about potential job openings and will refer qualified CIAT students. By utilizing our IT career services, you’ll not only set yourself up for your success, but you might also learn a lot more about yourself along the way.
