With a Computer Technician Certificate, you graduate with the skills and cerifications you need to begin a rewarding career in IT.
Accelerate your learning with hands-on technical training and problem solving skills critical for professional computer technicians. This program will prepare you to successfully take two IT certification exams, CompTIA ITF and CompTIA A+, to demonstrate to future employers that you have the skills needed to be successful in the workplace.
Major topics covered include hardware technologies, operating systems, networking and security. This program prepares students for entry level positions as a Technical Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician or PC Technician.
- Develop fundamental IT skills managing computer hardware and operating systems.
- Perform essential steps in PC installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repair.
- Build an entry-level foundation in network infrastructure security including cryptography, access control, network assessments and audits, and deploying organizational security.
- Land in-demand industry certifications, including: CompTIA ITF+ & A+.
- Hands-on exposure to the latest tools and technologies used in the workplace.
- Accelerated learning paths for existing IT professionals with prior industry certifications and work experience.

Earning these certifications in our Computer Technician Certificate program will provide you with the foundational skills required to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain computer systems in business environments.
CompTIA ITF+
The CompTIA ITF+ exam serves as a great introductory IT certification to build your confidence and validates to employers that you have mastered fundamental IT skills related to PC hardware, operating systems, wireless networks, and more. If you’re just getting started on your IT career path, have no prior IT experience, and are looking to build quick momentum, the CompTIA ITF+ is a perfect place to start. As a beginner-level certification, it’s not expected that you have any prior years of working experience, or prior IT certifications under your belt.
CompTIA A+
The CompTIA A+ exam is designed for early stage IT professionals or career changers looking to start a new IT career. A+ exam validates your skills in mastering hardware, installing and configuring mobile devices, identifying and protecting against security vulnerabilities, and troubleshooting wire and wireless network devices. You can earn your CompTIA A+ exam by passing two separate exams, Core 1 (220-1001) and Core 2 (220-1002). If you’ve already successfully passed the CompTIA ITF+, you’re ready to start preparing for your A+ certification exam.
