About Embedded Computers & the Internet of Things

This course introduces students to embedded computing and the internet of things using Raspberry Pi as the main focus. Building upon previous coursework in Python, web, and app technologies, students will explore topics including embedded computers, computer electronics, hardware input/output, sensors, making information available to the internet, kernels and kernel programming. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand how to create small-scale IoT-enabled hardware projects which make information available from remote locations.


Students must have completed ASD210 with a satisfactory grade.
