About Computer Hardware Fundamentals

101A and 101B are courses that use a step-by-step approach to provide students with the fundamental skills necessary to obtain an entry-level personal computer hardware and operating system technician position. Upon completion of these courses, students will have a deeper understanding in areas relating to installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security, and troubleshooting. They also feature a hands-on training program that focuses on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems. The courses also serve as an opportunity for students to heighten their customer service and communication skills, which are essential for all IT professionals. It is important to note that the two courses should be taken consecutively since they provide foundational knowledge for all future courses, and are designed to prepare students for the CompTIA A+ 220-901 certification exam.
